At Joie Design Co., we believe in full transparency. The policies on this page govern every service we offer — from your first Paid Trial through to ongoing subscription plans and Estate Home Packages. Please read each section carefully before making a purchase.

By completing any transaction with Joie Design Co., you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all applicable policies outlined on this page, including our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Digital Product & Delivery Policy, and Subscription Plan Policy. These terms apply to all current and future transactions between you and Joie Design Co.

POLICY 1 — TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Overview

​

These Terms & Conditions govern all services, packages, subscription plans, and add-ons offered by Joie Design Co., including the Paid Trial Package, Budget 2D, Budget 3D, Budget 2D + 3D Packages, Estate Home Packages (Standard, Full, and Premium), all 2D + 3D Subscription Plans (Starter, Pro, and Premium), all 3D Exclusive Subscription Plans (Standard, Pro, and Premium), and all Add-On Services. By completing any purchase with Joie Design Co., you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you (the client) and Joie Design Co. and apply to all current and future transactions.

2. Services Offered

​

Joie Design Co. provides professional kitchen and bath millwork drafting and 3D visualization services on a project basis, one-time package basis, estate project basis, and monthly subscription basis. All services are delivered remotely to the client's private portal. No physical goods are shipped or delivered under any circumstances. All deliverables are custom-created and specific to each client's project brief.

3. Paid Trial Package

​

3.1 The Paid Trial Package is a one-time, non-refundable purchase priced at $249 CAD, designed to allow prospective clients to experience Joie Design Co.'s quality and workflow before committing to a subscription plan.

3.2 The turnaround clock begins from the date complete project materials are received — not from the date of purchase.

3.3 The Paid Trial Package is available to first-time clients only. Repeat trial purchases by the same individual or business entity are not permitted.

3.4 Joie Design Co. reserves the right to decline a trial project that falls outside our service scope. In such cases a full refund will be issued within 5 business days.

3.5 Clients who convert to a subscription plan within 30 days of trial delivery will receive a $249 credit applied to their first month's invoice via a unique coupon code issued at the time of conversion. The coupon code is single-use, non-transferable, and expires 30 days from the date of issue.

4. One-Time Packages — Budget 2D, Budget 3D, Budget 2D + 3D

​

4.1 One-time packages are single-project purchases with no ongoing commitment or recurring billing. Each package covers the deliverables outlined on the relevant product page at the time of purchase.

4.2 The turnaround clock begins from the date complete and accurate project materials are received — not from the date of purchase.

4.3 Each one-time package includes the number of revision rounds specified on the relevant product page. Revision requests beyond the included rounds will be billed at the standard add-on rate of $199 per round.

4.4 One-time packages are not transferable to another project, client, or billing period and have no cash value.

4.5 Work will not begin until a complete and sufficient project brief has been received.

5. Estate Home Packages

​

5.1 Overview Estate Home Packages — Standard, Full, and Premium — are large-scale, project-based engagements billed per invoice. They are not subscription services and do not involve recurring billing. Each package is scoped, quoted, and invoiced individually based on the specific project requirements, number of areas, and deliverables agreed upon at the time of engagement.

​

5.2 Retainer & Payment Schedule A non-refundable retainer of fifty percent (50%) of the total agreed project fee is required before any work commences. The remaining fifty percent (50%) balance is due upon project completion and prior to the release of final deliverables. No final files will be released until the balance invoice has been paid in full.

​

5.3 Project Scope & Quotation All Estate Home Package engagements begin with a written scope of work agreed upon by both parties prior to the retainer invoice being issued. The scope will outline the number of areas included, specific deliverables, estimated turnaround timeline, and total project fee. Any work requested beyond the agreed scope will be quoted and invoiced separately before that additional work commences.

5.4 Additional Areas Additional areas requested beyond the included scope are available at the standard per-area add-on rate of $450 per area and must be agreed upon in writing before work on those areas begins.

​

5.5 Rush Surcharge A Rush surcharge of $750 applies to Estate Full and Estate Premium packages where an accelerated delivery timeline is requested. This must be agreed upon and invoiced before rush priority is applied.

​

5.6 Turnaround & Milestones Turnaround timelines are estimated at the time of scoping and outlined in the written scope of work. Joie Design Co. will provide milestone updates throughout the project. Delays caused by late or incomplete brief submissions, slow client responses, or changes to approved scope are not the responsibility of Joie Design Co.

​

5.7 Cancellation If a client cancels after the retainer has been paid but before work has commenced, the retainer is non-refundable. If cancellation occurs after work has commenced, the client is liable for the value of work completed to that point, which may exceed the retainer amount. Joie Design Co. will provide a written account of work completed and associated value at the time of any cancellation request. Any overpayment will be refunded within 10 business days.

5.8 Invoicing All Estate Home Package invoices are payable within 7 calendar days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments may result in a pause on project delivery until the outstanding balance is resolved.

​

6. Subscription Plans

​

6.1 Plan Overview Joie Design Co. offers two subscription tracks:

2D + 3D Subscription Plans — Starter, Pro, and Premium — include AutoCAD floor plans, elevation drawings, electrical notes, and photorealistic renders.

3D Exclusive Subscription Plans — Standard, Pro, and Premium — include photorealistic renders only, with no AutoCAD drawings.

Full inclusions, project volumes, and pricing for each plan are outlined on the relevant product page at the time of purchase.

6.2 Minimum Commitment All subscription plans require a minimum commitment of three (3) consecutive months. Early cancellation within the minimum commitment period does not entitle the subscriber to a refund of any amounts already paid.

​

6.3 Billing Cycle Subscriptions are billed monthly on the same date each month, beginning on the date of initial purchase. Payment is due at the start of each billing cycle, in advance of work commencing for that month. Work will not commence until payment has been successfully processed.

​

6.4 Failed Payments It is the client's responsibility to ensure payment details remain current and valid at all times. Failed payments do not constitute a cancellation. The subscription remains active until formally cancelled in writing. Joie Design Co. reserves the right to pause or suspend project delivery in the event of a failed or delayed payment until the outstanding balance is resolved.

​

6.5 Scope of Work All project briefs must be submitted with complete and accurate information within 2 business days of the billing cycle start date. Projects not submitted within a billing cycle do not roll over to the following month and cannot be accumulated, banked, or transferred.

​

6.6 Plan Changes & Upgrades Upgrades to a higher tier take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Downgrades are not permitted within the minimum 3-month commitment period. After the minimum period, downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle with 14 days written notice. Plan changes between the 2D + 3D track and the 3D Exclusive track are treated as a new subscription and are subject to new minimum commitment terms.

6.7 Pause Policy Subscribers may request a pause of up to 60 days once per 12-month period with a minimum of 14 days written notice before the next billing date. No charges will be incurred during an approved pause period. The minimum 3-month commitment period continues to run during a pause. Subscriptions resume automatically at the end of the approved pause period.

​

6.8 Cancellation Cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@joiedesignco.ca with a minimum of 14 days notice before the next billing date. Cancellations within the minimum 3-month commitment period will be honoured at the end of the third billing cycle. Cancellations submitted with less than 14 days notice will result in one additional billing cycle being charged. Upon cancellation, all completed project files remain accessible in the client portal for 60 days, after which they will be archived and may be requested for a $25 administrative retrieval fee.

7. Introductory Pricing

​

7.1 All new subscribers who convert from a Paid Trial are eligible for a $249 trial credit applied to the first month's invoice and a 10% discount applied to months 1, 2, and 3 of the subscription. From month 4 onward, the full standard monthly rate applies automatically.

7.2 Introductory pricing is available to first-time subscribers only and cannot be combined with any other offer, discount, or promotion.

7.3 The 10% introductory discount applies to months 1, 2, and 3 only and does not carry forward under any circumstances.

7.4 Switching plans during the introductory period will reset the introductory pricing terms from the date of the plan change.

7.5 Joie Design Co. reserves the right to modify or discontinue the introductory offer at any time for new subscribers. Existing subscribers within their introductory period will not be affected.

8. Add-On Services

​

8.1 Add-ons cannot be purchased as standalone services without an associated base package, estate project, or active subscription.

8.2 All add-on purchases are non-refundable once work has commenced on the associated project.

8.3 Add-on services are project-specific and are not transferable to another project or billing period.

8.4 Current add-on rates are as follows:

  • Priority Delivery (48-hour turnaround): $399

  • Alternate Finish Set: $199

  • Animation Walkthrough: $499

  • AI Enhancement (Nano Banana 2): $149

  • Full Materials List + Spec Board: $149

  • Tile Layout: $199

  • Additional Revision Round: $199

8.5 Rush Delivery (48-hour turnaround) is subject to studio availability at the time of request. In the event that Rush Delivery cannot be accommodated due to studio capacity, the Rush Delivery fee will be refunded in full and standard turnaround will apply.

8.6 The AI Enhancement (Nano Banana 2) and Alternate Finish Set add-ons are only available for projects that include at least one photorealistic render.

8.7 The Animation Walkthrough add-on is only available for projects that include at least one photorealistic render and must be requested at the time of the original project brief — not after render delivery.

8.8 The Full Materials List + Spec Board add-on is only available for the Paid Trial and Budget 3D packages. It is already included as standard in Budget 2D, Budget 2D + 3D, and all 2D + 3D subscription plans.

8.9 Additional Revision Rounds purchased as add-ons apply to the current revision stage of the nominated project only and expire upon final delivery.

9. Revisions

​

9.1 The number of revision rounds included varies by package and plan — please refer to the relevant product page for details.

9.2 All revision requests must be submitted through the client portal revision form.

9.3 Revision requests submitted after the included rounds have been used will be billed at the standard add-on rate of $199 per round.

9.4 Revision requests that constitute a change in project scope — including new areas, new design directions, additional deliverables not included in the original brief, or changes to previously approved elements — will be treated as a scope amendment and billed accordingly.

9.5 Joie Design Co. reserves the right to determine whether a revision request falls within or outside the original project scope. This determination is final.

9.6 Revisions are not grounds for a refund request under any circumstances.

10. Delivery & Turnaround

​

10.1 All turnaround times are estimates and not guaranteed delivery dates.

10.2 The turnaround clock begins from the date complete and accurate project materials are received.

10.3 Joie Design Co. will notify the client promptly of any delay caused by circumstances within our control and will provide a revised delivery date.

10.4 Delays caused by incomplete briefs, late submissions, or slow client responses are not the responsibility of Joie Design Co.

10.5 In the rare event that Joie Design Co. is unable to deliver within the agreed turnaround due to circumstances within our control, the client may request a delivery credit of up to 10% of the project or monthly fee applied toward a future invoice, at the sole discretion of Joie Design Co.

11. Client Responsibilities

​

11.1 The client is responsible for providing complete, accurate, and sufficient project materials within the timeframe specified for their package or plan.

11.2 The client is responsible for reviewing and approving all deliverables within a reasonable timeframe.

11.3 The client is responsible for ensuring all product selections and design directions are accurate and current at the time of brief submission.

11.4 The client is responsible for maintaining access to their client portal and keeping their contact email address current and active.

11.5 The client warrants that they have the right to use any reference materials, images, drawings, or design files submitted to Joie Design Co. and that doing so does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

12. Payments & Pricing

​

12.1 All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD).

12.2 Joie Design Co. reserves the right to adjust pricing with a minimum of 30 days written notice to active clients.

12.3 Active subscribers will be given the option to lock in their current rate for one additional billing cycle before any new pricing takes effect.

12.4 All payments are processed securely through Wix Payments and Stripe. Joie Design Co. does not store payment card information directly.

12.5 Estate Home Package invoices are payable within 7 calendar days of the invoice date. Late payments may result in a pause on project delivery.

12.6 In the event of a pricing error, Joie Design Co. reserves the right to correct the error and offer the client the option to proceed at the correct price or receive a full refund.

13. GST

​

GST (5%) will be applied to all invoices once Joie Design Co. reaches the CRA GST/HST registration threshold of $30,000 CAD in annual revenue. Active clients will be notified a minimum of 30 days in advance of any tax additions to their billing. Once registered, Joie Design Co.'s GST registration number will appear on all invoices.

14. Intellectual Property

​

14.1 All deliverables are licensed for the client's commercial use upon receipt of full payment for the relevant package, billing cycle, or estate project balance.

14.2 Project files remain the intellectual property of Joie Design Co. until full payment has been received. Unpaid work may not be used, distributed, or presented by the client.

14.3 Joie Design Co. retains the right to use completed work in its portfolio, website, social media, and marketing materials unless the client requests otherwise in writing prior to project commencement.

14.4 The client may not resell, sublicense, or represent Joie Design Co.'s deliverables as their own original work for the purposes of offering competing services.

14.5 All software, tools, processes, templates, and methodologies used by Joie Design Co. remain our exclusive property.

15. Force Majeure

​

Joie Design Co. shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to deliver services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including illness, family emergency, natural disaster, internet or technology outages, power failures, or acts of government. In such circumstances, Joie Design Co. will notify the client as soon as reasonably practicable and provide a revised delivery timeline.

16. Limitation of Liability

​

16.1 Joie Design Co.'s total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the specific project or billing cycle giving rise to the claim.

16.2 Joie Design Co. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use any deliverable.

16.3 Joie Design Co.'s deliverables are produced for presentation and sales purposes. They are not stamped architectural or engineering drawings and are not intended for use as permit or construction documents unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

17. Dispute Resolution

​

If you have a concern about your package, subscription, estate project, billing, or deliverables, please contact us at hello@joiedesignco.ca before initiating any dispute with your payment provider. We will make every reasonable effort to find a fair resolution within 5 business days of receiving your concern in writing.

​

18. Governing Law

​

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through direct communication will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

19. Amendments

​

Joie Design Co. reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Active clients will be notified of any material changes a minimum of 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Joie Design Co.'s services after any amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

​

20. Acceptance of Terms

​

By completing any purchase from Joie Design Co. — including the Paid Trial, any Budget Package, any Estate Home Package, any Subscription Plan, or any Add-On Service — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
